Description
This skill set is aimed at improving worker safety in the mobile crane industry in Western Australia. It has been designed as an embedded skill set within the Certificate III in Mobile Crane Operations traineeships.
Pathway Information
These units of competency provide credit to the qualification TLI40721 Certificate IV in Mobile Crane Operations
Licensing / Regulatory Information
Licensing requirements apply to the following units of competency:
- CPCCLRG3002 - Licence to perform rigging intermediate level (High Risk Work Licence - RI class licence)
- TLILIC2016 - Licence to drive a heavy rigid vehicle (HR class licence)
- TLILIC0021 - Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 100 Tonnes) (High Risk Work Licence - C1 class licence)
Individuals undertaking training and assessment in TLILIC2016 - Licence to drive heavy rigid vehicle to obtain a Heavy Rigid vehicle class licence must hold:
- A C class licence with 12 months experience, or
- An LR class licence, or
- An MR class licence.
A Practical Driving Assessment (PDA) for HR vehicle class with a Department of Transport (DoT) driving assessor or an external DoT authorised provider is required prior to issuance of a licence. Additional requirements may apply such as eye test and application fees.
Individuals undertaking training and assessment in TLILIC0021 - Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 100 Tonnes) to obtain the Slewing mobile cranes (up to 100 Tonnes) (C1 class licence) must hold a current National HRWL to perform dogging or a certification for a specific VET course for HRWL to perform dogging.
At the completion of training, applications to WorkSafe WA will be required to be issued with the above HRW licences.
