Description
The Insulated Glass Unit (IGU) Installer/Fabricator Skill Set draws on existing LMF units and builds on existing trade or technical qualifications. They are targeted at tradespeople needing to gain the additional knowledge required to meet the new national standards and to ensure certification against "AS4666 Insulated Glass Units".
Pathway Information
These competencies can provide credit towards relevant qualifications in the Furnishing Training Package at a Certificate III level and could be used towards a relevant Certificate IV.
Licensing / Regulatory Information
This Skill Set provides additional knowledge/skills required to meet the newly introduced Australian Standard "AS4666 Insulated Glass Units" which has been produced to meet the requirements of a number of national and international standards listed below.

Target Group
This Skill Set is aimed at people who have completed a qualification in Glass and Glazing or other aligned trades at a Certificate III level and who are now expected to install and/or fabricate Insulated Glass Units that conform with the Australian Standard "AS4666 Insulated Glass Units" to meet certification requirements. Note that it is expected any prerequisite requirements (or their equivalent) will have already been achieved.
Suggested words for statement of attainment
These competencies from the LMF02 Training Packages meet the minimum industry requirements for installation/fabrication of Insulated Glass Units (IGUs).
