Description
The Insulated Glass Unit (IGU) Manufacturing Skill Set draws on existing LMF units and builds on existing trade or technical qualifications. They are targeted at tradespeople needing to gain the additional knowledge required to meet the new national standards and to ensure certification against "AS4666 Insulated Glass Units".
Pathway Information
These competencies can provide credit towards relevant qualifications in the Furnishing Training Package at a certificate III level and could be used as electives towards a relevant Certificate IV. Note that any prerequisite requirements are expected to have been achieved.

Target Group
This Skill Set is aimed at people who have completed a qualification in Glass and Glazing or other aligned trades at a Certificate III level and who are now expected to manufacture Insulated Glass Units that conform with the Australian Standard "AS4666 Insulated Glass Units" to meet certification requirements. Note that it is expected any prerequisite requirements (or their equivalent) will have already been achieved.
Suggested words for statement of attainment
These competencies from the LMF02 Training Packages meet the minimum industry requirements for manufacturing of Insulated Glass Units (IGUs).
