Description
This unit describes the speaking and listening performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required in further study by adult learners of English as an additional language.
The focus of this unit is on listening and speaking skills in English to participate in further study contexts that involve the presentation and discussion of ideas and information in straightforward formal presentations and group discussions.
The outcomes described in this unit relate to:
- the ISLPR (International Second Language Proficiency Ratings) descriptors for Speaking and Listening. They contribute directly to the achievement of Speaking 2+ / 3 and Listening 2+ / 3
and
- the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF). They contribute directly to the achievement of ACSF indicators of competence in Oral Communication at Level 3.
