The Certificate II in Plumbing is an entry level course designed for learners including school-based students, who are considering a career in the plumbing sector.

Total number of units required = Eighteen (18)
- Sixteen (16) core units plus
- Two (2) elective units, of which
- one (1) elective must be chosen from the elective units listed below.

The remaining elective unit can be chosen from the electives listed below or from a currently endorsed qualification or accredited course at AQF level 1 or AQF level 3.

Elective units must contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

Where units are listed with an asterisk in the course document, a pre-requisite (integrated within this course) is required:
- CPCPCM2043 Carry out WHS requirements
or
CPCCWHS2001 Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry
or
CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry

The unit CPCPCM2040 Read plans, calculate quantities and mark out materials has an additional pre-requisite of CPCPCM3024 Prepare simple drawings (included in this course).

RTOs may consider clustering the delivery and assessment of the below three units if appropriate:
