Entry Requirements
Under the Building Services (Registration) Act 2011 in WA, a painter is required to be registered to carry out painting work valued over $1,000. The legislation has two pathways to registration - Set 1 and Set 2. This course meets part of the requirements for the Set 2 pathway. Refer to the DMIRS website for detailed requirements.

Recommended entry requirements:
1. It is strongly recommended applicants have a minimum of 3 years of experience carrying out painting and decorating work before commencing this course.
2. It is recommended that RTOs assess applicants’ LLND skills prior to enrolment. Students would be best equipped to achieve course outcomes if they have sufficient LLND skills as identified within the units of competency.
